Event Cancellation

• A minimum 10% service charge will be deducted from all refunds

• Race deferment to other Rocky Mountain Skimo Race is a possibility 

Severe Weather Conditions

Weather decisions typically happen morning of, I will delay the start and adjust the course in order to make the race safer, if the ski resort is open, the patrollers are game, WE WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN. Ski "Mountaineering" can throw all the conditions at you out in the real world, so I expect racers to prepare themselves and their gear for any conditions Ullr and Mother Nature can throw at you. I will have leuko tape and vaseline to put on exposed skin at the bib pickup. 

• USA SKIMO SANCTIONED RACES - will follow ISMF regulations, if these conditions are not met USA Skimo will pull their sanctioning and the race will not count towards ranking points and continue at the discretion of the Race Director.

• UNDER 18 year old racers - Refunds with a 50% service charge deducted. These racers might not have the experience in these conditions to make smart/safe decisions out on course, and a poor decision isn't worth permanent damage. Youth can still participate recreationally, but PODIUM AWARDS WILL NOT BE OFFERED.

• OVER 18 year old racers - Refunds will NOT be offered. You are an adult and can make your own decisions in order participate safely out on course and dress appropriately. Dropping from a longer course to shorter can be made mid-race.

• Deferment - willing to offer 50% off a future Rocky Mountain Skimo Race if you chose to not race based off of weather. 

Poor Snow Conditions

Refunds will NOT be offered - Ski "Mountaineering" can throw all types of snow conditions at you out in the real world. I promise to ski the course and set the course in as safe of way as possible, if it isn't safe I wont send you down it. It is your responsibility to ski within your abilities at a speed that the conditions permit. 

Travel issues

Bad mountain roads and skier traffic are not unkown variables, unfortunately they are part of the deal. I have and will delay race starts and can change individual start times to account for MAJOR issues like road closers, but don't count on it, get up earlier, leave the night before and sleep in your car or bivy in the parking lot (pretend you are on a big ski mountaineering objective).

Illness

• Entry fees will be refunded/deferred if requested 1 week prior to first day of event. 

• Participants must have a valid medical reason and documentation, each case will be reviewed. 

• A minimum 25% service charge will be deducted from all illness refunds.

• Absolutely no refunds will be given after the race date regardless of reason 

• Deferment - willing to offer 50% off a future Rocky Mountain Skimo Race if you chose to not race based off of weather. 

All refunds are at the sole discretion of Rocky Mountain Skimo
